Back to Greece, where sunny weather is a trend even during…winter! This small hotel is one of the oldest in the area of Tsagkarada. OK, now you’re wondering where Tsagkarada is located. It’s in Pelion, Volos: where sea and stone mix in Greece. The translation of its original name “Odos Kentavron” means Centaurs’ Street which is where these Greek Mythology creatures with the head, arms and torso of a human and the body and legs of a horse, Centaurs, reside.
The owners’ family, originated from Egypt left their culture mark in the main hall: antiques, paintings, a wide book collection and retro furniture speak their story. Many visitors proposed that its 24 rooms feel really homy which was the owners’ renovating aim from the beginning. Keeping in mind not what most people would expect to see (a traditional-design hotel), they moved towards a totally different decorating direction: this of a cottage house. They tried to match stone and wood, traditional materials from the Pelion area along with a lighter country house decor using pal colors, floral tapestries and white furniture. (Looks like Oma, right? I know!)
As art lovers, they try to help out local artists encouraging them to exhibit their artworks and perform theatrical plays inside the hotel while during summer you’ll be able to attend the famous Pelion (classic music) festival. Brunch is served till late and includes homemade bread(!), cake and jams served in the flowered patio during summer and the in main hall during winter. Daily menu is also homemade and deserts are always fresh and made out of seasonal groceries and fruits.
Either during summer or winter, you’re gonna love this Centaurs Street! Enjoy!
