As society changes and probably gets lonelier, this pop up breaks taboos by offering you an exciting experiment to dine solo! Eenmaal is the first one person restaurant in the world located in Amsterdam. The initiative for this project was sparked by an idea of social-designer Van Goor whilst Vandejong signed up to create its visual identity and brand concept striving together to break the taboo that surrounds eating alone in public.
Eenmaal is just like any other excellent restaurant but totally unique in one thing: it only has tables to seat one person. Where you might usually go out to eat with company, at Eenmaal you are your own company. It is the perfect place to dine in pleasant solitude; an exciting experiment for those who never go out for dinner alone and an attractive place to eat for those who already enjoy doing so,
says creator Marina van Goor who is determined to make the experience of eating in public, yet solitude, enjoyable.
Their aim is to achieve two things with the Eenmaal branding: First, to entice people to come to the restaurant and at the same time, to give them food for thought. Keep in mind that the name Eenmaal was inspired by its meaning in Dutch which is both ‘one time’ and ‘one meal’, giving the name a subtle twist.
