Philippos is both a painter and an illustrator, collaborating with various galleries and magazines. He has had solo and group exhibitions in Cyprus, Greece and Vienna, currently based in Athens from where he runs Egg studio collective together with other graphic designers and artists.
His illustrations often depict the multicultural way of life of the Greek capital, well-known streets and alleys, street performers and balconies! What also seems like a habit, is to expose its audience to interior spaces of special significance: museum, homes with a focus in everyday objects like flowers. Among our favorite works of Philippos are the ones that portray pets or wild animals.
His illustrated buildings and intense urban scenery are full of love and nostalgia for a much-more-romantic-than-the-contemporary Athenian lifestyle… One thing is for sure: Philippos’ work doesn’t lack identity. You can tell it’s him behind the vivid block colors and the fine details of his sketches.
Know more about the Egg studio: Egg studio is a freelance collective created just a couple of years ago by graphic designer Paris Koutsikos, illustrator Daniel Egneus and painter Philippos Theodorides. Set in the center of Athens in Aiolou street, overlooking the acropolis, Egg studio is a studio space shared by three friends who don’t want to work from home.
