We really felt the urge to talk to you about how this awesome brand, KOMONO, wins one customer at a time. We’ve posted before a success story that makes us think of some brands as our friends and creates added value for them due to the fact that they offer special treatment to each one of their customers. Long story short, I had bought this watch from a local store selling KOMONO watches and sunglasses, two years ago.
Super-cute, right? Anyways. As you can see the strap could be considered as a bit season-oriented (I consider it to look kind of a summer-strapped watch than a winter one) so I decided to pimp it up a bit by changing the strap. I contacted the brand and asked where could I find a selling point near me to get a different strap or order the strap online. I had either one of these two in mind:
They replied almost instantly letting me know that they don’t sell straps on their own, BUT they offered to send me one straight from their warehouse. I gave them my shipping address but didn’t get my hopes up. In a week’s time, the strap I had asked for arrived at my mailbox! Free of charge. Obviously, I got overly excited; what’s better than receiving a surprise gift? Just for the thrill of “unboxing” it, here’s how the two straps look in real life:
What does that teach us, dear brands? I doesn’t matter if what you’re offering is expensive or not, show that you care for your customer and you will be rewarded. For sure, the next time I buy a watch it’ll be a KOMONO watch, I might even get my next sunglasses from them. Tailored customer handling is what makes a business standout.
A little bit about the brand:
Founded by Belgian designers Anton Janssens and Raf Maes, KOMONO is the perfect blend of vision and timing. KOMONO means “small things” and its members share a passion for distilling the best of culture into its simplest forms. You’ll find their affordable e-shop here: komono.com. We gathered the ones we loved most to the gallery below. If you feel our taste is a bit conservative, fear not; just check out their fabric collection online.
This is not to say you should email them and ask for a free band, of course. It’s just that only a few brands are as concerned with keeping their customers satisfied, as they are and we felt we should mention them. We pay our respects to their customer service and brand’s philosophy. If you also love brands that teams up with emerging artists, check out this section called “Curated” and features their artistic collaborations. The cover photo of this post is from KOMONO’s latest collaboration with Baloji, an African artist and performer; take a peek.
Thanks again, Komono.
